Using parameter between 2 grouped tests

If I created a test with 2 steps

  1. get text of an element and assign to an output parameter (parameterA)
  2. type the value of this parameter into other element
    I can run pass these steps
    Then I grouped step 1 to sub-test 1, step 2 to sub-test 2
    Now the sub-test 2 is failed with message ‘Requested to set the value of sub-test output parameter “parameterA” to test parameter “parameterA”, but “parameterA” is never set!’

Can you show me how can I fix this please?

Hi @thao.nguyen,
Output parameters are mainly used to move data from a sub-test to the main test;
Which means you will need to do the following:

  1. In the main test create an input parameter (lets call it ‘valMain’).
  2. In sub-test1 use an output parameter (lets call it ‘valGet1’).
  3. In the main test press on sub-test1 and set ‘valGet1’ to give its value to ‘valMain’.
  4. In sub-test2 create an input parameter (lets call it ‘valGet2’).
  5. In the main test press on sub-test2 and set ‘valMain’ to give its value to ‘valGet2’.

Let me know if I was clear enough or if you need any assistance.
