Test project agent keep on stopping

Test project agent keeps on getting stopped after couple of run. I have to restart the machine, for it to work properly again. Did anyone face this issue? Could you plz help on this

Which version are you using?

Follow these solutions and reproduce the execution:

  • Reinstall the agent and notice that you are installing the latest agent (3.4.2)
  • Please try to disable any anti-virus/firewall you have running on your PC.
    It seems like 1 or more programs are using ports that the TP agent uses for SDK communication, if that is the case I would advise you to try to do the following.

Terminate the TP Agent.

in Windows: open PowerShell as an admin and then:

Get-Process -Id (Get-NetTCPConnection -LocalPort 8585).OwningProcess

if anything uses this port when the agent is turned off, use this command:

taskkill /PID <Procces_ID_From_Previous_Step> /F

Alternatively, you can change the agent default ports from here:

navigate to %appdata% in your run command:

and then to TestProject, and Agent, like this,

you can change the ports from here:

  • Please quit the TestProject Agent and then clean the these folders:

coded-testsdata-sources

addons

apps

executions

logs

temp

workers-executions

also delete the following file:

lock

You can find them here:

Windows

Open the Start menu, type %appdata%\TestProject\Agent\ and hit enter.

macOS

Open Files Finder and choose Go form the top menu, select Go to Folder and type:
~/Library/Application Support/TestProject/Agent

Linux
Navigate to ~/.testproject/agent/

Then start your agent again and let me know if that work.

Thanks for the help. Really appreciate it! I m using the latest version. I m currently killing the process in my Mac, by getting the process id, that way I need not restart the machine.

Did you still face the issue when you reinstalled the agent and reproduced the scenario?

@alex.ivanov Not observing this issue anymore. I haven’t reinstalled the agent, but I killed the process from terminal and reopened. It is working fine now. I believe we can close this ticket
