How to create bugs automatically when a script fails using TestProject

To elaborate on the scenario:

I will execute the scripts and if any of the scripts fails, TestProject should create a bug automatically.

Hi @Sivakumar.Arepaka,

There’s no such option in TestProject.
What you can do is, for example, use the Jira API to create a bug.

You can create a test that creates a bug by using the RESTful API addon and trigger that test whenever a test is failing.

@amit.yahav thanks for this. As I am a new user of TestProject.

Could you help me with the below activity:

  • How can I create a test that creates a bug by using the RESTful API addon and trigger that test whenever a test is failing?

  • How to create a bug using Jira API.

Thanks!!!

Hi @Sivakumar.Arepaka,

  1. You need to create a test that contains all the required logic to create a bug in Jira. Once you have this test, you can simply use it for every step that is failing. In the recorder, click on the required step → ADVANCED OPTIONS → HOW TO ACT IF THE STEP FAILS? → Recovery Test. Then, select the Jira test that you created. Once the step will fail, this test will be triggered.

  2. This is the Jira API documentation. You will find examples and explanations about creating a bug.
