TestProject SDK / Unable to run coded test with c#
« Last post by peterg on January 14, 2019, 15:41:31 pm »
Hi,
I've uploaded a C# coded test to my project and I'm unable to run it.
It opens new test browser window, but immediately closes it.

The strange thing about it is that I'm able to run the test locally from visual studio using Testproject agent.

Hi petreg,
please follow these instructions:

1. Download the linux agent from the "Agents" section.
2. You will find a .sh file called: "TestProjectAgent_x64.sh"
3. Right click on that file-> Properties-> Permissions-> check the "Execute" option.
4. Opent the folder that contains this file on terminal.
5. Execute this file by typing: ./TestProjectAgent_x64.sh
6. Follow the installation instructions.
7. After the agent successfully installed on your machine, go to the "Register Agent" option on TestProject and follow the instruction.

General Questions / How to install the TestProject agent in Linux?

Your XPath is indeed wrong, it should have a wildcard before the square bracket as FirePath returns:
Code
.//*
...
Your doesn't:
Code
//[@id='58']
...
16
I am getting below error while trying to automate sample Qlikview web report though Selenium

Xpath returned by FirePath:

Code
  .//*[@id='58']/div[2]/div/div[1]/div[4]/div[1]

Exception:

Code
  **Exception**: Exception in thread "main"
   org.openqa.selenium.InvalidSelectorException: The given
   selector//[@id='58']/div[2]/div/div[1]/div[4]/div[1] is either invalid
   or does not result in a WebElement. The following error occurred:
   InvalidSelectorError: Unable to locate an element with the xpath
   expression //[@id='58']/div[2]/div/div[1]/div[4]/div[1] because of the
   following error:**SyntaxError: The expression is not a legal expression.**
   Command duration or timeout: 78 milliseconds
   For documentation on this error, please visit: http://seleniumhq.org
   /exceptions/invalid_selector_exception.html
    Build info: version: '2.45.0', revision: '32a636c', time: '2015-03-05 22:01:35'

I tried running by removing '.' from xpath but still the same error is occuring.

Code Sample:

// Navigate to Quarter 4 Results

Code
    driver.findElement(By.xpath("//[@id='58']/div[2]/div/div[1]/div[4]/div[1]")).click();
}

Try restarting your iOS device and avoid doing anything manually on the device.
Sometimes manual actions, such as navigating home to springboard, cause the iOS automation driver to hang.

Also, please try a different application, just to understand if this is a specific app issue.

Feel free to submit a support ticket, and our support team will be happy to meet you and assist.

General Questions / TestProject Recorder - iOS - Unable to click any element
« Last post by zaid.sohail on December 21, 2018, 10:52:48 am »
Hi,

I'm trying to automate my iOS app. Ive setup everything (correctly hopefully) and can run my app through the script recorder. The problem is that once my app is up and running, I can't do anything through the recorder. If I click on anything, the step does get added to my test but the actual click action doesn't get performed in the recorder (Or on my connected device). I have previously used the same approach for my android app and it worked perfectly (I could see the action I perform on the recorder, get reflected on my device). What could be wrong here?

Thanks.
